Yoga for Beginners and Yoga Basics
This is an instructional class great for those practicing yoga 0-6months. Students will learn meditation techniques, proper alignment, and how to coordinate your breath and movement. You will learn the vinyasa, or flow style of yoga that is taught here at Blossom Yoga. Adjustments and assists are given, and modifications are suggested. Bring your desire to learn the ancient poses of yoga!
Gentle yoga is good for beginners to experienced students who may want a slower paced class. This class is also ideal for anyone with a medical condition who should not take a mixed level class. You will begin your class with a relaxing meditation, and move through poses designed to warm up your body and increase flexibility and strength, while honoring any issues you may be experiencing. Instruction is given in proper alignment and modifications are available to honor your body. A gentle class is a wonderful way to nurture your body and spirit. You will leave feeling relaxed, renewed and rejuvenated.
All Levels Yoga
This yoga class is good for all levels of students, from beginners to more advanced. Included are meditation techniques, using the breath to coordinate movement and cleanse the body, body alignment, as well as assists and adjustments. Modifications are shown and deeper options are given to create a more challenging practice. A fun, well-rounded class to create strength, flexibility and a connection to a peaceful mind.
Level 1/2, Level 2/3
These classes are for students familiar with vinyasa flow. Level 1/2 are for those students practicing yoga for at least 6 months or more. More advanced postures and a faster pace set the tone for the Level 2/3 practice. Level 2/3 students should be familiar with many of the fun and challenging yoga poses and have practiced yoga for a year or more. These classes offer more of a "workout" while maintaining emphasis on connecting breath and movement.
Restorative yoga is a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. The use of props makes it easier for you to maintain balance while you are stimulating and relaxing your body. Restorative yoga provides healing for the body and the mind. It is especially useful when you need to eliminate fatigue and stress that result from your daily activities. It can also help you recover from illness and injury or overcome emotional depression and anxiety that are caused by traumatic events such as divorce, loss of job and death of a beloved.
Many restorative yoga poses are similar to normal yoga poses, except that they are performed with the support of props.
The essence of Yin Yoga is surrender. To
balance the heat-building, blood-pumping, strengthening "yang" side
of a Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga practice, Yin focuses on postures that lengthen
the muscles surrounding the hips, pelvis, and lower back. Students typically
hold these postures for 3-10 minutes per side in order to lengthen the
connective tissue that surrounds the joints and increase its elasticity. The
elasticity of our connective tissue diminishes with physical activity and
aging, which makes Yin essential for injury prevention and joint health. Since
a Yin Yoga practice often includes several long, seated forward bending
postures, it also restores energy and calms the nervous system. Pure bliss!

Thank you!Blossom Yoga provides cubbies to store personal belongings, however, we are not responsible for any loss, theft or damage of personal items. Please no shoes in any of the studios.We recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the designated start time to ensure a spot in the class. Feel free to just drop in to any class. At this time, there is no need to register ahead of time online, we have plenty of room for you! If you are late, we ask that you wait until the opening meditation is finished before you enter the class space. All class cards are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and non-refundable. Students 12 years and older are welcome to take yoga classes at Blossom Yoga. Please bring your own yoga mat. There are limited extra mats available at the studio for your use. A towel and bottled water are suggested too.
